Sadly, Zayd's first tree (Hermes) passed on during the freeze of 2011 while Pops Mammen was away on business and Momma Mammen was too preggers to rescue our fledging Royal Poincianna from imminent death. Pops had grown Hermes 1.0 from a seed. Hermes 2.0 never made it out of his tiny pot. Hermes 3.0 and 4.0 are working their way to tree status as we speak.
With all of the Hermes drama, I was happy to welcome Zayd's second official tree to the family - Roberta. (Sam names the trees, not sure of the inspiration but its a funny coincidence...)
Here is the lentil with his first Live Oak. This tree *should* be able to survive a SATX summer and winter. Now we can watch them grow together.
