Our little lentil is turning into a chickpea!
Zayd is officially seven months and seeming older every day. (Tear mixed with excited energy about the future.)
What's new with our little legume?
- He weighs 18.5 pounds
- He has FOUR teeth and still seems to be teething. We have a little shark on our hands!
- He can crawl!...BACKWARDS. We are working on more conventional directions.
- Zayd can definitely get around despite his refusal to try forward crawling. He can scramble into your lap and into a standing position from just about anywhere in the room.
- He laughs. And laughs. And laughs. I may have a baby that doesn't sleep and insists on a LOT of personal attention but MAN IS HE HAPPY. :D
- He definitely knows mommy and daddy and expresses his preference for one or the other on a daily (or minutely basis). While out in the world, we do a lot of passing this child back and forth!
- He refuses to take a bottle. My little man no longer eats if I am not home. We are trying to come up with work arounds.
- He eats a TON of solids in very small amounts. We can't let him fill up on beets while trying to push milk. :)
- He thinks mommy has been very delinquent in her blogging.
Here is little Zayd enjoying the morning of his Seven Month Anniversary with Na-na. (My dad.)
Can you think of a better way to spend your Seven Month-Aversary than with Nana and Nani and THEN a trip to the park? Zayd can't either! Here he is loving on his hat and enjoying the fall sunshine.
With this post we sadly announce the death of the Month-Aversary hat. We were very melancholy as we dug the mangled, detached point of it from Zayd's gummy grin. The hat will be sorely missed. Should we make a new hat? It could be the same or maybe sailor style? Or go a new route? Maybe we should make month onesies? Or a month CAPE? Now we are thinkin! Post your ideas for how we should celebrate the coming four month-aversaries before the big 0-1!
I like the cape idea!! Make it like 'the Count' from sesame street, because you're COUNTING the months!!!!!!! http://internationalday.blogspot.com/2006/06/june-7-international-count-from-sesame.html
