A Date with My Favorite Boy

Last Sunday, Zayd and I had a whirlwind of a day complete with a Fiesta Pooch Parade, trip to Austin, our first basketball game, and dinner on the lake! It was a great day punctuated by friends and family and lots of mommy-son time. Who could ask for anything more!

After a car-nap, we made it to Austin to see the star of our show:

And off to the lake with old friends.

Doing temporary tattoos! Nini is such a good sport!

Zayd paid our check. What a gentleman!?

Easter 2014

Easter was a rather quiet holiday for us this year. Without a church to attend and with our normal Sunday stomping grounds all closed for Easter, we were left with a day of pretend play and flying kites at Hardberger Park. It was definitely not a bad way to spend a Sunday but not particularly Easter-y minus our early morning Easter Egg hunts, both indoors and out.

and learn.

What is this little princess doing?

Nothing good.

A Whole Lotta Singing Going On

I swear its the cutest thing ever and I just can't get it on video. It goes something like this," Bippy bippy. Down. Out. Sun. Bippy Bippy." With a face full of glee.

Our First Fiesta!

Yesterday we headed out to the Fiesta Arts Fair and had a pretty good time. There were tons of people and it cost an arm and a leg but they had Sprite and we got a demo of the new Bibliotech nooks for kids so all in all a good way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

The Manny

I just drove Joe home after he watched our kids for five hours and I have to say that he really is the best nanny we could ever have hoped for. The way he talks about our kids you know that he really loves them. Joe is excited to see Zayd start school even though he'll be sad to see him go and that's exactly what you want from your son's nanny. But the most impressive thing was a very long Inquisition Joe gave me about the people running the new school Zedd and Zara will be attending in August. He rivaled even my very thorough list of questions and he thought I had the right answers. I suppose we're all gonna be OK and I'll have to have many more date nights so Joe and the littles can enjoy quality time together.
