Ziyan is four months!!

My super sweet little lamb its four months old. He seems so big all of a sudden. He loves to laugh and calms instantly if you start singing to him. He slept better as a one month old than he has as a 4 month old but isn't that how it always goes? He can roll over but it usually looks like it was an accident. He is so interested in the world around him and that's such a marked change from 2 months ago. Ziyan has really found his voice! He coos all day long but he also knows how to scream. He screams for joy, he screams for frustration and he screams for gas. He vomits nearly every time you feed him and I can't understand how he gets so fat while still losing so much milk. He has figured out how to play with toys and aims to put anything in his mouth. His favorite thing to chew on is blankets and towels. He has a few actual teethers that are texturized rubber that make him cry the second they touch his gums. I'm not sure if it's surprise or pain, but I'm speculating teeth are in his near future.

This little baby makes me so happy. I knew I wanted a third and I couldn't have gotten luckier than to have this little lamb in my life. He fits like a puzzle piece right into the life that we are building and he makes me joyful everyday.

Plus, those thighs.

My Fabulous Fridays

There were times this week when I told people my new schedule and they were taken aback. Getting up at 4:45 in the morning isn't ideal. But I've weighed what matters to me and I think found a balance that can work. Yes, I am tired Monday through Thursday. And one or two nights a week I have to drive in to make up for the hours that I just can't squeeze in during the preschool work day. But on Friday I could sleep if I wanted to. But more importantly I can visit my son in kindergarten and bring his baby brother to lunch and let him be a rockstar in the cafeteria.

Family Outings

I think we've done a really great job of transitioning to having three little ones. Looking at our weekend calendar I can assure you that we haven't slowed down at all. But the ways in which we fill our days are fun and active and allow us to spend time together usually outside. I can't imagine sleep would be any more fun than that. ;) And my first born has no interest in sleeping past the sunrise so out into the world we go!

Last week (or the one before??) we went to the first instantiation of the family friendly First Friday in hemisfair park and it was quite a success! I can't wait until we get to do all of these fun outdoor activities in the fall when it isn't 200 degrees!

Brother Snuggles

It's nice to know that when I'm up at the crack of dawn getting ready for work, Ziyan still has a wonderful snuggle buddy in my bed.

The Day Ziyan's Hair Curled

Out of nowhere, after today's shower I discovered that Ziyan's hair is now long enough to curl. But it curls straight up!

This new schedule

Getting up before five am four days a week will always be worth it if you get to spend the fifth day like this.
