It's a Boy!

I really do love a good pattern: Boy, Girl, Boy. It has such a nice ring to it, doesn't it?!

I have been cookin' up this little lime for nearly 5 months now and it feels like most of it has been "in secret". Whereas I am pretty sure I posted about being pregnant with the lentil within 10 minutes of turning twelve weeks, most people found out I was pregnant this time around when I decided to have a (last minute) gender reveal. I suppose number 3 feels different. We have done all of the pregnancy fanfare once or twice before and now we are busy chasing after the resulting littles. With all of that in mind, it felt like we needed to have a neighborly get together to celebrate our little man and actually kick the pregnancy off (half-way through) with the excitement and buzz one would expect from a momma bringing new life to the family.

So, I typed up an evite to the Pigpen neighborhood bar and playground for a "When Pigs Fly Z3 Cupcake Gender Reveal". (Why the theme??...you obviously never asked Sam about a third baby anytime in the past three years!)

It was great 55 friends and neighobors RSVP'd for a casual cupcake playdate on a Thursday evening and the Z's (1 and 2) absolutely loved it. They have known (as have we) for about a month now, but they really haven't understood and I am hoping the party helped solidify to Zahra that a boy baby means no sister. Only time will tell.

Anyway, here are a couple of adorable family photos from our first documented phase of this adventure and an after shot of what 30 Mahncke Park kids can do to a cake in about 2 minutes flat.
