Easter! in the Land of Sugar

Despite being Muslim, there is pretty much no holiday that I will skip if I have the energy to celebrate it. We might have a little party around here for tax day, who knows! This was Zayd's second Easter (can you believe it!) and I really wanted to give him a proper Easter basket.

You may have guessed that I am not huge on giving my kiddo junk food, processed food, typical food. I really try to make healthy choices for the both of us. This definitely presented an issue come Easter Basket time.

This is the hunt I set up. Sam really enjoyed completing it since Zayd couldn't have cared less.

He hated these ears too...

Once we got him out of the sun, he was a little more interested in his goodies. First up, easter eggs filled with whole grain goldfish!

And chocolate covered sunflower seeds - yummy and a good source of protein!

And some multigrain cheerios, to boot! Zayd loved the treats and I didn't have to worry about him getting sick.

Besides our treasure eggs we all enjoyed the Cascarones confetti eggs.

You may not be able to tell, but I found organic cotton candy and used it as the filler in Zayd's basket. (It dehydrates quickly so this has to be assembled just before the big reveal.) This was definitely daddy's favorite part.
My men. (Minus my brother.)

After the hunt and a nap, we played with our favorite soccer ball.
And then headed to a WWC-reunion egg hunt! It was so good to see my other favorite Z-boy!

To tucker him out before the long drive to San Antonio, Auntie Andie and I took Zaydie to feed the ducks, run around, and play on the playground at Eldridge Park.
Zayd loved feeding the animals.

And took every other piece of bread for himself! It cracked him up to eat the ducks' bread.
