The Prince is 8 Months Old!

SO, our little prince has turned eight months old. What's new with him?
  • He can clap. It was amazing to watch him learn to clap. He was in his car seat after Landa Library Baby Story Time and focusing very intently on meeting his hands in the middle with a thud. He usually forgets to open his hands but he gets the point. He can also take YOUR hands and make very convincing claps.
  • He laughs when I sign at him. I am not sure if he understands but he thinks the signs for milk is hysterical.
  • He can take his own diapers off (cloth and sposies). Eek. We might have to go back to snaps. We've learned so much. I started with all snap diapers and then made trades for velcro because they are SO MUCH EASIER to work with. Now, I need snaps again. Grrr.
  • He keeps crawling into his footie pajamas. His legs pull up into the body and he has two snails of fabric trailing behind. The once hated-by-Dad skinny pajamas with elastic footies are now our go to jammies. All of the cute infant jammies have to go. My how times have changed!
  • He occasionally lays his head on you. For months he was adamant about proving that he wasn't tired and he still has that in him, but occasionally, just for a second, he will rest his little head on your shoulder and sigh. And your heart will melt. And it is the best.
  • I could write a novel about his sleep but I will save it for another day.
  • He weighs a little more than 19 pounds and he is 27 inches long.
  • Patty-Cake has replaced the Ants Go Marching and the Zayd Song as his favorite go to tune.
